Serbian companies to engage in infrastructure construction projects in Congo

Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic and Minister for the National Investment Plan (NIP) Verica Kalanovic talked on Monday with Congolese Minister of Transport and Communications Laure-Marie Kawanda Kayena about contracting Serbian companies in Congo.

The Ministry says in a statement that the meeting discussed the engagement of Serbian companies in the construction of infrastructure and factories for bus and railroad carriage parts, as well as the transfer of the Serbian technology to Congo.

Mrkonjic thanked Kawanda Kayena for the visit and the trust which she and her government have placed in Serbian companies and projects, announcing greater participation of Serbian companies in the construction of road infrastructure in Congo.

Kawanda Kayena announced that within the next month a memorandum of cooperation will be signed with the Serbian Ministry of Infrastructure.

Apart from Serbian government representatives, she also met with representatives from companies including Ikarbus, Gosa, FAP, Fabrika Vagona Kraljevo and others, to discuss concrete forms of cooperation, the statement adds.
