A production site for investment casting in the Serbian town of Mionica has been purchased by the EMKA Group.

The Group is working towards being able to provide all 46 countries in which the company is represented with the high-quality investment castings from its new facility in Serbia.

This investment in the new EMKA production site is expected to total up to €5m, aiming to set a clear sign for the established production in approved European standards.

EMKA will retain the current staff of 125 from the previous owner of the investment casting factory, the Cimos Group, a Slovenian company.

It will also assume all systems required for the production of stainless steel investment casting at temperatures up to 1,500°C, including mechanical finishing equipment. The property in Mionica measures 56,000m2 and is located southwest of Belgrade.

EMKA will utilise the newly gained production capacities to manufacture investment casting components for its range of locks and hinges, while all custom-made designs will comply with European quality standards.

Finished products from the investment casting factory in Serbia can be transported on the European highway system and reach the customer within two to three days.
