Serbia’s Interkomerc said it has agreed the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the construction of small hydro power plants, news broadcaster B92 reported. The plants will be built on the river Josanica in central Serbia, Interkomerc director Goran Percevic told a news conference marking the company’s 60th anniversary. Pericevic also said Interkomerc will end 2011 with total revenue of RSD 22bn (EUR 212mn).
During the crisis the company has managed to shift to production, mainly in the agriculture and food industry, and plans investment in the energy sector, Pericevic said. Interkomerc was founded in 1951 as a state-owned enterprise representing foreign companies in Serbia. Nowadays it is active in foreign and domestic trade, manufacturing, shipping services, real estate business and publishing.
