Marko Čadež, president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, announced that the signing of the free trade agreement between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates and a large business forum in Belgrade is expected by the end of this year.

After a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi (Zeyoudi) in Abu Dhabi, Čadež said that the second round of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement will be held by the end of October.

That agreement, which is being prepared by the two governments, will be a framework, and it is up to businessmen to fill it with new businesses, said Čadež and added that Minister Al Zeyudi will lead the largest economic delegation of the UAE in a visit to Serbia, which will participate in the business forum.

Together with the chambers of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as well as with the UAE Investors Council, we are participating in the organization of this business forum, with the aim of bringing additional dynamism and energy to the economic relations of Serbia, the Western Balkans region and the UAE with new projects, Čadež said.

Earlier today, the President of the PKS also met with the Secretary General of the UAE International Council of Investors Jamal Al Jarwan (Jamal Bin Saif Al Jarwan), with whom he discussed investment opportunities in Serbia and the region, especially in the sector of information technology, innovation and innovative healthcare.

Čadež presented the Bio Sense Institute and the Bio4 Campus project, which, as he pointed out, is one of the most interesting in the field of biotechnology.

The UAE Investors Council is among the most influential in the world, and according to Čadež, there is an opportunity for investments in companies in Serbia, as well as for cooperation in the field of building modular hospitals and new technologies for the processing of rare metals.

“The Balkans is becoming particularly interesting in this area because it has resources that no other region in Europe has. Today, rare metals are imported from Asia, and innovative processing technologies are a great opportunity for the region”, added Čadež.

As he emphasized, the UAE Investors Council, together with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Chamber Investment Forum of the Western Balkans, could become a new hub for future investments and projects in the region in Serbia.

During his multi-day working visit to the UAE, tomorrow, Čadež will visit the National Stand of Serbia at the largest technology fair in the world, “Gitex Global 2023″, where 11 domestic companies are participating.
