Structural reforms necessary for economic recovery of Serbia

Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration Jadranka Joksimovic spoke today with Director for Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Kosovo issues at the European Commission’s Directorate for Enlargement Jean Eric Paquet about the process of structural economic reforms that are being implemented in Serbia and plans on how to improve business environment.

The two officials agreed that these goals are fully consistent with the concept of economic governance that the EU promotes.

Paquet underlined that in the ongoing accession negotiations, one of the most important criteria will be the improvement of the economic situation, employment and the strengthening of competitiveness.

Joksimovic and Paquet agreed that it is important to find a way in which the EU together with other international financial institutions can provide support to Serbia in realising these goals, reads a statement by the Office of the Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration.
