With a revenue of almost 2.6 billion euros in 2020, Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) took the eighth place on the list of 100 most successful companies in Southeast Europe “TOP 100 SEE”. At the same time, EPS is the best ranked Serbian company on the prestigious list, which is published every year by the reputable international business platform SeeNews. In the report of the Agency for Business Registers “One hundred most … companies in 2020”, EPS is in the first place in terms of both revenue and profit.
This large energy system in 2020 recorded a net profit of 110 million euros, which is 3.5 times higher than the profit in 2019. A significant increase in profitability is a consequence of better results in all business segments, especially in the core business, with considering that the growth of the volume of business activity of 1.1 percent was accompanied by rationalization in performing energy activity. EPS also had the largest business revenues of 2.3 billion euros – according to APR. – The Serbian economy managed, despite the aggravating circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic, to maintain the achieved volume of business activities from the previous year in 2020 and to achieve a positive net result by a fifth higher than in 2019.
In terms of revenues, NIS, Delhaize Serbia, Tiger Tires and Telecom Serbia are behind EPS. In terms of profit, EPS is followed by Tiger Tires with a net profit growth of 2.1 percent on an annual level, to 78 million euros, the third is Telenor with a net profit of 71 million euros, 20.2 percent lower than the year before, and the first five are rounded off by Zijin, who increased profitability 2.6 times compared to the previous year to 71 million euros, and Coca-Cola, whose net profit jumped by 55.6 percent to 47 million euros, Mondo reports.
