The Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, announced today, in Metovnica near Bor, that a public call for subsidizing the installation of solar panels will be announced at the end of August or in the first days of September at the latest.
Mihajlovic stated that it is planned that the public call for subsidies for the installation of solar panels will run the same as the previous one on increasing energy efficiency, ie replacing carpentry, the ministry announced.
“These are important projects that will last for several years. We will repeat the second public call for the replacement of carpentry at the end of December towards all local self-governments,” said Mihajlovic.
She pointed out that the Ministry will provide funds for subsidies next year as well.
“We plan to have 100 million euros for the replacement of carpentry next year, and that all citizens who could not change the windows, do insulation or replace the roof years ago, can do it now,” she said.
Sustainable mining is the carrier of development
The Minister of Mining and Energy of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, stated in Metovnica near Bor, where an agreement was signed on the reconstruction and construction of the water supply network, that mining is not only the exploitation and processing of ore, but also the improvement of living standards of all people.
After signing the contract, for the realization of which the company Zijin Mining donated one million euros, she also addressed the residents of Metovnica and other villages.
“This is an important day, because it is not mining, ore and exploitation, but also the lives of people who work there and everyone who lives in this district,” said Mihajlovic, stating that this contract will ensure that everyone the house gets drinking water by November.
Mihajlovic also pointed out the importance of the new mine Cukaru Peki, which will be opened in the fall, the ministry reported.
“It will be a green mine, different from all others, with the opening of which we will be second in Europe in terms of copper production and we will participate with 18 percent of the total production. So far, half a billion euros have been invested in equipping the Cukaru Peki mine,” she said.
Speaking about the Jadar project, the Minister stated that it is not certain that the lithium mine near Loznica will be opened, regardless of the amount of jadarite ore that does not exist anywhere in the world.
“The state will not take any steps until the study on environmental impact assessment is completed. What is clear is that there are 158 million tons of reserves there. But, whether we will decide on the mine in the end, the citizens will decide on that in a referendum,” said Mihajlovic.

The mayor of Bor, Aleksandar Milikic, said that just because the mine is working, the city budget has increased by 40 percent.
Zijin’s director Fu Feilong said that in the future, the company will continue to develop mining for the benefit of society and work together on the prosperity of the company and the local community, Danas reports.
