The General Manager of Telekom Serbia, Vladimir Lucic, announced that the company will have a special fund for financing startup projects worth five million euros this year, and denied allegations that the company is over-indebted and that its future is uncertain, today’s Politika reported.
“That is not true. Anyone who would realistically analyze our data in the last two years would understand that we have made a remarkable growth in the number of users in the Internet and multimedia and revenue growth in this segment and that we have reached record revenues,” Lucic told Politika.
He pointed out that the company has “become a leader in the production and distribution of TV content” in recent years.
“We did all this from investment loans, taking care that our debt does not exceed three times EBITDA (profit before interest, taxes and depreciation), ie to be in the telecommunications average like other operators such as Deutsche Telekom, Telefonika, Vodafone,” Lucic said.
He announced that “Telekom Serbia” is about to reorganize and modernize its business, optimize costs and further develop digital services and content, emphasizing that it expects good financial results this year.
“Debts will fall in absolute amount, but even when you compare the relationship with EBITDA, they will be less than twice EBITDA at the end of 2021, so we will be among the least indebted telecommunications operators in Europe,” Lucic said.
He stated that he will continue with the development of production and cooperation with the most eminent distributors in the world.
He specified that Telekom Serbia will promote its production in the world, in order to become an integral part of the television offer in many countries.
“We will position Telekom Serbia ‘as a Serbian brand in digital services and contents on the world market,” he said.
He is convinced that the further development of Telekom Serbia in the region and the diaspora will create a company “which, with its income and profitability, will be capable of further expansion in the region and beyond.”
According to him, the company’s development strategy will be to offer users a large user base and content, as do the most successful and valuable companies in this field in the world, such as “Amazon”, “Facebook”, “Google”.
“I am completely convinced that Telekom Serbia will be one of the main engines of development of the domestic economy, because it will become a leader in the development of digital services and software solutions, which will be one of the main export branches of our country,” Lucic told Politika.
