The budget of Serbia in 2022 is aimed at raising the standards of citizens

The PROPOSAL of the budget for 2022, which was adopted today by the Government of Serbia, is aimed at raising the living standard of citizens and envisages more funds for investments.
– I expect that the budget proposal for next year will be in the assembly before the deputies on November 23 – said Mali and added that he expects the budget for 2022 to be adopted by the end of that week in November, in accordance with the fiscal calendar.
Answering the questions of the journalists in the Old Palace, Mali said that the budget proposal foresaw an increase in salaries by an average of 7.3 percent in the public sector, that is, seven percent for everyone and eight percent in health, army and social protection.
Also, pensions will be increased by 5.5 percent according to the Swiss formula, and pensioners will receive another 20,000 benefits at the beginning of next year, the minister stated.
He points out that with that increase of 5.5 percent, the mass of money for pensions will be increased by a total of 11.2 percent in 2022 in relation to 2021.
Mali reminded that the minimum wage will be increased in 2022 by 9.4 percent, and that the minimum wage will amount to 300 euros.
He said that the increase of salaries and pensions will continue, as well as that at the end of this year, the average salary will amount to 618 euros.
He emphasized that the budget for 2022 envisages 4.1 billion euros for capital investments, including the construction of the Belgrade metro.
According to him, at the end of this year, the public debt will be 58.2 percent of GDP, and next year it will be even lower and will amount to 55.5 percent.
Mali said that this year the growth of our country’s GDP will be between 7.3 and 7.5 percent, and that we will be among the first three countries in Europe in terms of growth last year and this year.
– We will reduce the deficit to three percent and we will continue to increase salaries and pensions – the Minister said, Novosti reports.
