The construction of the complete infrastructure for the Chinese vaccine factory Sinofarm in Serbia will begin by the end of August

By the end of August, the construction of a new service road, sewage, water supply network and public lighting in the length of 6.9 kilometers will begin, from the settlement of Grmec to the settlement of Soko Salas, where the Sinofarm vaccine factory will be built. The deadline for the execution of works is 120 days, and the value of the work is 14.4 million euros, it was announced on the official portal of the City Municipality of Zemun.
This factory is a joint investment of Serbia, China and the United Arab Emirates. It is anticipated that Sinofarm vaccines will be packaged in the factory from next year, and a plant for the production of PCR tests is also planned. The expected monthly production is two million doses of vaccine per month. For the factory that will be built according to the “turnkey” system, the Serbian side has provided the land, and the infrastructure will also be provided. This complete greenfield investment will enable the production of significant quantities of the Chinese Sinofarm vaccine, which will be sufficient not only for Serbia, but also for the region, it is added in the announcement.
On August 23, the President of the City Municipality of Zemun, Gavrilo Kovacevic, visited the location where the vaccine factory will be built, which is located within the economic zone Autoput in the settlement of Soko Salas, eKapija reports.
