The aim of the survey is to better adjust the offer of green energy with a guarantee of origin (energy that is guaranteed to come from renewable sources) to commercial customers, as well as to check citizens’ information about green energy, but also satisfaction with EPS services.
“Green energy production is part of the centuries-old tradition of The Electric Power Industry of Serbia, and today it is produced in 15 hydropower plants with a capacity of 3,015 megawatts, according to the technical specification within the public procurement. EPS gets a third of total electricity production from renewable sources,” it is said in the technical documentation.
In 2019, EPS started selling green energy with a guarantee of origin to customers on the free market.
Today, the system of guarantees of origin includes seven hydroelectric power plants of EPS with a capacity of 1,560 megawatts.
“Intensive work is being done to include other hydro power plants in this system, and the idea is that customers will soon be offered kilowatt-hours from solar and wind energy,” the specification reads.
Bidders are expected to conduct research on information, attitudes and knowledge of the concept and significance of electricity obtained from renewable sources.
The market survey will be conducted by telephone survey on a sample of about 1,200 adult citizens, and the survey on the attitudes of commercial customers on a sample of about 200 customers.
The estimated value of the public procurement has not been indicated, and bids will be submitted by September 8, Kamatica reports.
