The export of the Serbian defense industry for this year will exceed 1.6 billion dollars, which is 25 percent more compared to 2022. One of the largest export contracts relates to 48 NORA 155mm artillery systems, but the official announcement of the buyer has not been made yet.

Demand for military weaponry, and consequently for products from the Serbian defense industry, comes in waves. In the wake of the war in Ukraine, the topic of armaments was not in focus for countries worldwide.
However, since February 24th, 2022, when Putin announced the start of the “special military operation,” according to military analyst Aleksandar Radić, “the topic of armaments is on the table for many countries.”

“Many countries want to renew their production, want to have strong armed forces again. Suddenly, they realized that it’s not enough to have one company, one battalion of tanks,” Radić said.
