In the third quarter, Serbia achieved a better result than expected – a growth of 7.7% was achieved and the estimate was 7.4, said President Aleksandar Vučić.
– Since we have data for October, the growth rate will be over 7.5% at the level of the whole year. Excluding Ireland, due to its specific status, Serbia will cumulatively, for the last two years, be the country with the highest growth rate in Europe. This means faster growth of living standards compared to other European countries – said Vučić and added that Chinese investments in Serbia, especially those in the Smederevo Ironworks and the mine in Bor, returned Serbia to the path of successful countries and pulled the country out of crisis.
He stated that Ironworks paid 367 million euros from the takeover until the end of 2021, and increased the number of employees by 102. He added that the company Zijin, from December 18, 2018 until today, as an investor paid 254 million euros and that the Čukaru Peki mine is a development opportunity for Serbia.
According to Beta, Vučić announced that the payment of an additional 20 euros of state aid for citizens during the coronavirus epidemic would begin on December 7, and 5.8 million people applied, eKapija reports.
