The value of construction works in Serbia fell by 2.6 percent

Data collected in the second quarter of this year show that the value of construction work performed on the territory of Serbia fell by 2.6 percent in current prices, while in constant prices the decline is 0.8 percent compared to the second quarter of 2019, the Republic Bureau of Statistics (SBS) announced.
Observed by regions, in the second quarter of this year, the value of work performed, at constant prices, increased in the region of Southern and Eastern Serbia (48.3 percent), and the Belgrade region (2.3 percent), while the value of work decreased in the region of Sumadija and Western Serbia (13.7 percent), and Vojvodina (25.1 percent) compared to the same quarter in 2019.
Of the total value of works performed in the second quarter of this year, 94.1 percent was performed on the territory of Serbia, while the remaining 5.9 percent was performed on construction sites abroad.
The total value of works by contractors from Serbia, for works performed on the territory of our country and abroad, is at the same level as in the second quarter of 2019, observed in current prices, while in constant prices it increased by 1.8 percent, Nova reports.
