The current works on the construction of new sections of highways and fast roads in Serbia are worth about three billion euros.
Of that, 1.8 billion works are already underway, the acting Director of Roads of Serbia Zoran Drobnjak said today and added that, in addition, high-speed roads in the length of 800 kilometers are being designed.
“Now we are also designing fast roads in the total length of 800 kilometers, the construction of which will cost between four and 4.5 billion euros,” Drobnjak pointed out while visiting Pink TV.
He adds that the planned works are worth a total of more than seven billion euros.
He reminded that a highway was being built from Preljina to Pozega, then the Moravian Corridor from Preljina to Pojat, a highway from Kuzmin to Sremska Raca, a ring road around Belgrade, that a new bridge over the Sava near Sabac was being built, that a fast road would be built from Novi Sad to Ruma, then the highway Ruma – Sabac and the fast road Sabac – Loznica…
“We are now working on the rehabilitation of highways,” said Drobnjak.
He pointed out that the completion of the Belgrade ring road will mean a lot, which will be by the end of 2022, because it will relieve a lot of traffic on the Gazela bridge on the highway through Belgrade, where crowds are especially created in the afternoon, B92 reports.
