Will retail chains in Serbia soon accept cryptocurrencies?

As of this month, the leading supermarket chain in Croatia, Konzum, will be able to pay with cryptocurrencies in its online store. This raises the question of whether similar moves are planned for the Serbian market – will we be able to market bitcoin in, for example, Idea or Roda, which are owned by Mercator?
The company did not deny such a possibility.
“IDEA Online does not currently have the ability to charge for purchases via cryptocurrencies. Given that online commerce worldwide is moving in that direction, we can expect that IDEA Online will consider all options for the introduction of cryptocurrency as a means of payment in the coming period,” they told B92.net from Mercator.
Konzum, let us remind you, operates under the auspices of the Forten Group, which officially became the majority owner of Mercator this spring.
The Forten Group’s retail network consists of about 2,400 Mercator and Konzum outlets with nearly 40,000 employees operating in five markets in the region with a population of 17.5 million, Sputnik News reports.
