With the technical reconstruction of the smelter in Bor, the production capacities of metallurgy will be increased from 60 to 80 thousand tons of cathode copper per year to 180 thousand tons of cathode.
The project of technical reconstruction, expansion and construction is financed exclusively by the company Serbia Zijin Copper, and the realization of that project will not change the ownership structure of the company – it was told to Danas in the company Serbia Zijin Copper from Bor, reminding that remained the owner in a 37 percent stake in the former RTB Bor The Serbian government responded to the takeover.
It is added that the strategic partnership agreement “specified that Zijin will invest 1.26 billion dollars in the joint company in the next six years, but that the total investments in the planned period will exceed that amount and reach 1.9 billion US dollars.”
– Exhaust emissions will be in accordance with the standards after the technical reconstruction of the smelter, the wastewater will be able to be used again after treatment and the standards of the European Union will be met – they say in Zijin and emphasize that “confirmed desulphurization and dust removal technology has high efficiency, leading world equipment, so the project is of great importance for environmental protection.
By the way, until the arrival of the Chinese in Bor, in 2018, the total production of anode copper was about 79.6 and cathode 67.4 thousand tons, Danas reports.
