Without exports, there is no increase in the price of wheat

The price of wheat did not increase, not did its export from Serbia, although the agreement on the transport of wheat from Ukraine via the Black Sea was terminated. Everyone who deals with wheat believes that only exports would increase the still low purchase price.

The Egyptian market is open, but exporters state that it is poorly used due to high transport costs.

A farmer from the village of Kumana Sredoje Kontrić did not sell the wheat after the harvest, because he is not satisfied with its price, and he expects the demand to improve in September. “Wheat is in storage waiting to be sold.” Waiting for a better price. There are very few customers. It’s about the price on account,” says Kontric.

Storage in silos is free for the first month, but costs accumulate if no buyer is found. As emphasized, without exports there will be no significant movement in the price of wheat.

“Someone has to come and do the analysis, so for 50,000 tons you have to have someone of the same quality, so when those goods arrive at the port of Alexandria, the analysis is done again.” If it is what was sent, everything is fine, then you have 60 days to pay. Now you can imagine here that you tell some people to give 50,000 tons of goods to pay for 60 days”, explains Dragan Raca, producer and exporter of wheat from Zrenjanin.

Countries in the surrounding area and the Directorate for Commodity Reserves are currently the best buyers of wheat. It is added that Serbia is currently meeting the needs for wheat in the region, and there is currently no trade in grain through the port of Constanta in Romania.

Recently, Ukraine again started to mention the possibility of exporting its wheat by transport via the Danube, i.e. via the port in Vukovar and via the Adriatic ports in Croatia.
