The first man of the municipality of Indjija, Vladimir Gak, pointed out recently that the cornerstone for the construction of the Japanese investment Toyo Tires will be laid in August this year.
– Due to the corona virus, the deadline for laying the foundation stone has been moved, instead of April to August. There is not a day that we do not exchange emails with the services from the Government of Serbia, as well as with the Japanese investor – claims Gak and says that communication takes place every day.
The investment is progressing, with minimal delays given the current situation.
The production complex for fully automated production of tires for cars and trucks will be located on a plot of almost 64 hectares, and the production of 5 million tires per year is planned.
It is an investment worth close to 400 million euros, and according to the announcements, more than 500 jobs should be created.
The arrival of Toyo Tires in Serbia was announced last summer, when it was said that the factory in Indjija would be the first European factory of a well-known Japanese tire manufacturer, Srbija Danas reports.
