Additional tax relief for youth employment in Serbia

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, announced that from January 1, 2022, additional tax reliefs for the employment of young people will be introduced.
At the session of the Assembly at which the deputies ask questions to the members of the Government, answering the question of the SVM MP Ako Ujheli, Brnabic said that these reliefs were planned also because of the high unemployment rate in the population.
“At this moment, additional tax reliefs are planned for youth employment because we have a high unemployment rate of slightly more than 20 percent,” Brnabic said.
Additional benefits, as Brnabic says, will be especially for young people who need to get their first job.
The Prime Minister says that the My First Salary program is going well, and that it is being discussed with the Minister of Finance, Sinisa Mali, to allocate additional funds and expand that program.
Also, the Prime Minister announced the reduction of taxes for investing in innovations, development in order to additionally put the focus on investments for added value.
“We will continue with investments in infrastructure, there will be an additional budget for investments in environmental protection, because those are also investments in infrastructure, then water supply, sewerage networks, transfer stations. We hope that we will not have the need to invest so much money in supporting the economy due to the consequences of the pandemic, because we hope that the worst is behind us,” said Brnabic, RTVNP reports.
