Al Habtoor Group from Dubai meets Serbia – company interested in investing in tourism, hotel business, construction industry

Al Habtoor Group from Dubai is interested in investing in tourism, hotel business, construction industry, as well as in other industries in Serbia.

During the visit to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the President of Al Habtoor Group, Al Habtoor Khalif Ahmed Mohamed, said that his company was interested in spa, mountain and medical tourism, as well as in building projects because the company works on large building projects in Dubai and United Arab Emirates.

In addition to Al Habtoor Khalif Ahmed Mohamed, other participants in the talks with Mihailo Vesović, the Vice-Chairman of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, were Al Mazrooei Abdulla, the Director of the Real Estate Sector, Al Falasi Mohamed, and Čami Husein.

The guests from Dubai were also presented several master plans that concern the investments in Serbia. The Master Plan that was presented among the first was the one for Kovin harbor in the vicinity of Smederevo, which can offer business, tourist and fun contents. The value of the investment in Kovin harbor is estimated at EUR 550m, and the guests also expressed interest in the harbor’s infrastructure, as well as the roads that are used to reach it.

Another Master Plan that was presented is the one for development of Sokobanja and it concerns spa and medical tourism and includes construction of golf courses and other fun contents in the area of Podinarije. According to the Master Plan, Sokobanja should become a top spa resort with all modern and top-quality contents.

When it comes to spa resorts, the Master Plan for development of Kanjiža spa was also presented, and that spa should become the leading resort in the field of medical tourism in the north of Serbia. The guests were also introduced to the tourist and hotel capacities of the Palić Lake.

Rafael Pupovac from the National Tourism Development Corporation spoke about opportunities for development of Stara Planina mountain as a special place for development of ecological and rural tourism, as well as for construction of high-class tourist facilities that Stara Planina was craving for.

Vladimir Depolo, the Adviser of the Director of the Building Land Directorate, showed several locations in Belgrade that are suitable for construction of hotels, office space, residential buildings and high-category suites. Slobodan Vučičević presented the Silver Lake development project and the tourism development opportunities offered by the Danube. The Danube is also an area that drew special attention of the guests from Dubai.

Al Habtoor Group is a big company with over 40,000 employees. It is present in numerous countries and it is engaged in various activities, including the trade in automobiles. The company is also interested in medical tourism.
