Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali stated that at the end of the two-day meeting of the “Open Balkans” initiative in Nis, where a series of meetings with ministers from the governments of Albania and Northern Macedonia was held, a Conclusion from working meetings was signed tonight. These activities, as Mali announced on Instagram, will contribute to the facilitation of trade, cooperation in the field of food safety, phytosanitary and veterinary inspection.

“Among other things, it was agreed that by the end of the year, intensive work will be done on establishing a system for electronic exchange of all necessary documents, customs declarations, phytosanitary and veterinary certificates, as well as on improving existing systems. He added that it was agreed to sign an agreement which will enable free access to the labor market of the citizens of the three countries, so that they will be able to reside and work freely on the territory of Serbia, Albania and Northern Macedonia.

“Besides that, all three parties will sign and validate agreements on the recognition of the status of authorized economic entities by the end of the year, which will greatly facilitate the crossing of the border for certain companies and bring other benefits,” the finance minister said.

He added that a joint working group will be established to deal with the harmonization of the tax policy of our three countries.
