The initiative “Digital Serbia” announced today that the entrepreneurs it gathers will realize the first investment through which, in addition to 200,000 euros of financial investment, they provide mentoring support and access to their network of contacts to the founders of the domestic startup Tapni.
The founders of that startup announced, as it is stated, that they will use the financial support to strengthen the team and enter new markets, but also that as part of the agreement reached, they will move the business of their startup from Austria to Serbia.
“We have gathered a group of people who do not have professional investors, but successful business people in the field of digital economy who want to support startup teams at their very beginning, give them the wind in their backs when they need it most and invest ‘smart money’,” said one of the investors, Sasa Popovic.
He added that this means that “the money they invest will carry with them a far greater value in the form of knowledge and a network of contacts.”
“We will invite Tapni to learn something from our successes, not make the mistakes we made and thus accelerate their growth,” said Popovic, who is a member of the Board of Directors of the “Digital Serbia” Initiative and co-founder of the Novi Sad company Vega IT.
Startup Tapni was created with the aim of changing the way people network and almost completely remove paper business cards from use, because by attaching any smartphone to the user’s Tapni card, pendant or sticker, his contact information and profiles on social networks automatically appear on the device screen.
So far, Tapni has already achieved great market success in Germany, Austria and the countries of South America, and the founders of that startup are Mihajlo Nikodijevic, Milos Zecevic and Aleksandar Nikodijevic, Danas reports.
