The contract was signed by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Verica Kalanovic, Vranje Mayor Miroljub Stojcic and Ditre Italia Ceo Michele De Marchi.

Ditre Italia owner De Marchi said that the company did not randomly pick Vranje as the site where the factory would be built, and added that this will be the company’s third and greatest investment in Serbia.

We came here because after all that we have seen in Vranje and the small-scope test-production we staged, we have reasons to believe that the Vranje plant will manufacture considerable quantities of upholstered furniture which would then be sold in Europe, De Marchi said.

The factory will cover over 30.000 square metres and EUR 13.45 million will be invested in the reconstruction and equipment procurement. The plant will employ 411 workers.
