EPS SHPPs project

Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [the Bank] for a project to rehabilitate fifteen (15) small hydro power plants (SHPPs) in Serbia, with a combined capacity of 17,8 MW, together with the construction of eight (8) new small hydro power plants on existing dams, with a combined capacity of 14,7 MW (the Project). The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 53.5 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:

· Owner’s Engineering services, including design, procurement and supervision;
· Extensive civil works, including access roads, powerhouse, penstock, intakes and Channels, rehabilitation works of existing facilities;
· Supply of turbines and associated electromechanical equipment, gates, electrical protection and remote control systems.

Tendering for the above contract is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2011.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank’s Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank’s loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser’s country.
