Germans open factory in Serbia, employ 2,500 workers

President Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday opened a production plant of German cable maker Kromberg & Schubert in Krusevac, a town in central Serbia.

Vucic said that the factory will employ 2,500 workers, “hopefully more.”

The factory spreads on 23,000 square meters, and during the ceremony today, Vucic “thanked the friends from Germany who are our biggest partners.”

He also thanked the company “for believing in Serbia,” and stressed they would announce a new investment “in about 20 days.”

Vucic added that the state assisted this investment with more than EUR 9 million.
