Germany continues to support Serbia’s European path

The Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government, the Ministry of European Integration and GIZ, on behalf of the German-Serbian Development Cooperation, signed an Agreement on the implementation of the project “Support to Public Administration Reform in the Process of Accession to the European Union”.
The agreement was signed by the line ministers Marija Obradovic and Jadranka Joksimovic, and on behalf of GIZ, the project leader Stefan Hayek in the presence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia, Thomas Schieb.
Ministers Obradovic and Joksimovic and Ambassador Schieb said that the signing of this agreement represents the continuation of successful cooperation between Serbia and Germany in the process of public administration reform and support for the process of European integration.
“The support of the Federal Republic of Germany is extremely important for achieving the vision of the new Public Administration Reform Strategy from 2020 to 2030, and that is an administration made for all of us and the goal of the Ministry of State Administration and Local Self-Government is to make Serbia a modern state. The citizens are satisfied with the services provided and what is the service of every citizen and the entire economy,” said Marija Obradovic, Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government.
After the signing of the Agreement between the two ministries and GIZ, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia, Thomas Schieb, stated that the agreement signed today is a symbol of permanent German support for Serbia on its path to the EU. Quite specific reforms in the area of the rule of law, as well as public administration reform, have a special role in this. The modern and efficient public administration, which is oriented to the needs of the citizens, primarily benefits the citizens of Serbia and the domestic economy, concluded Schieb.
The project “Support to Public Administration Reform in the Process of Accession to the European Union” focuses on improving the quality and accessibility of services for citizens and the economy, both nationally and locally, and includes the application of innovative approaches in creating and providing services, such as and their standardization through the establishment of single administrative positions, BizLife reports.
