Industrial production in August increased by 5.8 percent

Industrial production in Serbia in August this year was higher by 5.8 percent compared to August 2022, and by 0.6 percent compared to last year’s average, while industrial production in the first eight months of this year compared to in the same period in 2022, was higher by 2.4 percent, the Republic Institute of Statistics announced.

Observed by sector, in August compared to the same month in 2022, growth was recorded in mining by 17.0 percent, in the supply of electricity and gas by 16.6 percent, and in the processing industry by 2.4 percent.

Data on industrial production by specific groups, in August 2023, compared to August of the previous year, show that there was a growth in the production of intermediate products, except energy, by 12.9 percent and energy, by 10.3 percent, while a decline recorded in the production of capital goods by 1.8 percent, non-durable consumer goods by 2.0 percent and durable consumer goods by 7.8 percent.
