The newly appointed ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Akira Imamura, said that Japan is an energy-efficient country and that it would be happy to share its experience and technologies with Serbia, adding that the country is interested in being a partner in the planned infrastructure projects in Serbia, in which Japanese companies they already employ 3,000 people.
Imamura discussed the relations between the two countries and the possibilities of further cooperation with the Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali. The interlocutors highlighted the planned construction of the reversible hydroelectric power plant Bistrica, a strategic project in the energy sector, as one of the most important projects on which Serbia and Japan could cooperate.
Mali mentioned that the energy sector is a sector in which Japan is our partner, adding that every investment from that country is valuable and welcome, because with it comes the latest technology.
