Mali Zvornik in Serbia received the Center for the Development of Innovations in the Field of Environmental Protection

The Ministry of Innovation and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia has allocated non-refundable funds in the amount of about 166 thousand euros to the municipality of Mali Zvornik for the realization of the project for the construction of the Center for the Development of Innovations in Environmental Protection. The modern incubator will be located in the premises of the House of Culture, and will serve to raise the innovative capacities of the local self-government in terms of protection and improvement of the environment.
According to the mayor Zoran Jevtic, the project envisages the establishment of a center with the most modern IT equipment and various trainings and programs, in order to raise entrepreneurial capacity in the municipality of Mali Zvornik, as well as to preserve and improve environmental protection, protection from fires, floods and other natural disasters, but also the development of tourist potential that the municipality of Mali Zvornik has.
– The center will provide the possibility of educating staff with the mentorship of domestic and foreign lecturers, with the aim of improving management and organization in the field of digitalization of environmental protection in the municipality and creating conditions for more efficient protection, in accordance with the concept of sustainable development – said Jevtic.
He pointed out that the goal is to establish as many startup companies as possible that will develop innovative solutions in the field of environmental protection, because, as he said, that will contribute to youth employment and prevent the outflow of young people from the municipality of Mali Zvornik.
In addition to education and increasing employment, the purpose of the project is to develop new solutions and services in the field of environmental protection that have the potential to be commercialized in the domestic and foreign markets.
In addition to trainings for acquiring entrepreneurial skills and raising IT competencies of the center’s users, in the field of programming, web development and mobile applications, the center will actively work on developing projects that will contribute to improving the work of the Municipal Administration in the field of environmental protection and offers from the municipality of Mali Zvornik.
– Our end users are young people who want to start their own innovative startup companies, with an emphasis on those activities that relate to the field of environmental protection and tourism – said Jevtic.
The support that the Center will provide to young companies consists of professional, legal, economic, marketing consulting, as well as mentoring product development and commercialization, market research and customer relationship development and offering quality business space equipped with the necessary infrastructure.
It is planned that the Center will be intended for users from the area of Zvornik, from Republika Srpska, where there is a Faculty of Technology which is a source of young talents and future engineers, who will build and shape their entrepreneurial skills and technological competencies in this Center.
The Republic of Serbia, through the competent ministry, has allocated 166 thousand euros for the realization of the project for the construction of the Center for the Development of Innovations in the Field of Environmental Protection in the Municipality of Mali Zvornik, while the local self-government will invest 5 thousand euros.
The center will be located in the building of the House of Culture, for which the adaptation of about 160 m2 of small hall in the Library “September 17” and technical equipment of the space for the purpose of open office space, presentation halls, video conference rooms, server rooms, archives, tea rooms kitchen and lounge area, eKapija reports.
