Serbia, Big companies made the biggest part of the total profit of 2022.

All segments of the economy operated profitably, considering the size of the companies. APR data show that more than half of the positive net result was achieved by large companies (528), with a total profit of RSD 455,791 million and an increase of 66.1 percent compared to the previous year. The growth in profitability of these companies was accompanied by an increase in the number of employees by 27,770 workers, and they employed a total of 450,049 of them.

The most intensive Increase in the positive net result was reported by micro-economic companies (93,064), with a profit 2.8 times higher than last year’s, in the amount of 42,843 million dinars. At the same time, they reduced the number of employees the most – by 11,769 and hired a total of 227,237 workers.

Small companies (13,172) realized a profit of 168,824 million dinars, which grew at a rate of 5.1 percent, while medium-sized companies (2,092) recorded a 15.9 percent lower positive net result, amounting to 196,731 million dinars. Small and medium-sized companies also recorded a decrease in employment (by 1,118 or 9,508 workers), and they operated with 333,356 or 270,770 workers.

The most dynamic profit growth In Belgrade and Vojvodina

In the Region of Vojvodina, a profit of 289,274 million dinars was realized, which increased by 56.6 percent compared to the previous year. The Belgrade region, where 46.4 percent of companies are concentrated, recorded an almost uniform positive net result of 289,231 million dinars, with the fact that it was reduced by 3.1 percent.

In the Region of Southern and Eastern Serbia, the profit increased by 45.7 percent and amounted to 176,541 million dinars, while in the Region of Å umadija and Western Serbia it increased to the amount of 111,272 million dinars.

Business of public companies in the red

Public enterprises (527) make up the segment of the economy that performed negatively, and on the annual level, they increased the loss many times, showing 74,773 million dinars.

This result was mostly contributed by a negative business result in the amount of 55,969 million dinars, as well as a 3.3 times higher loss from other activities amounting to 17,736 million dinars, while the loss from financing decreased by 59.9 percent, to the amount of 1,520 million dinars. . 109,923 workers were employed in public enterprises, which is 3,903 fewer workers compared to the previous year.

Entrepreneurs also achieved a positive result

Entrepreneurs continued the trend of profitable business in 2022, recording a positive net result of RSD 53,788 million, 17 percent higher than the previous year.

Institutions that perform activities for the purpose of making a profit also performed positively, whose positive net result is 4.3 percent lower than last year and amounts to 12,084 million dinars. This result was recorded by 1,508 institutions in which 41,177 workers were employed (in the previous year, 1,542 institutions with 40,121 workers).

Operating in the crisis period, financial institutions showed stability and a positive result was recorded at the level of most groups of active institutions. Banks, as the main carriers of the financial system, achieved a positive result for the period in the amount of 87,766 million dinars, which increased by 77.9 percent on an annual basis. The consolidation of the banking sector continued, so that 21 banks operated, which is two banks less than in 2021.

Consequently, the number of employees decreased by 192, to 21,517 workers.

The APR’s data on business operations show that according to the form of organization, the positive result in the largest amount was recorded by associations, which realized 2,174 million dinars, which is 6.5 percent more than the previous year. A negative result was reported by associations, societies and federations in the field of sports, where it amounts to 1,563 million dinars.
