Serbian state-run company Koridori Srbije has imposed a 100,000 euro ($112,179) fine on Spanish civil engineering groups Azvi and Construcciones Rubau for delays in the construction of sections of Corridor X, the director of the Serbian firm said on Tuesday.

The fine was imposedĀ as the reasons presented by Azvi and Construcciones Rubau for the delay in the construction of a section of Corridor X were unrealistic, Zoran Babic said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug.

“Along with the objective reasons, there are unrealistic explanations for the delays on Corridor X. For example, when a company, in this case Azvi and Rubau, delays by ten days the relocation of a launching gantry from Dzemin Do to Vrla bridge,” Babic told reporters in the video file.
