The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced today that the state will give one extra salary in Vranje, which is higher than the average, to former workers of “Geox”, who will not immediately get another job in Teklas, who will open a new plant in that city.
Vucic said that from tomorrow, Teklas will start employing people in Vranje, and that 250 people will be employed in two or three weeks, and 600 workers by March.
He pointed out that Teklas will employ more than 1,000 people by the end of 2022, as well as that a total of 2,500 people will be employed in Teklas in Vladicin Han and Vranje.
As he said, Teklas employs 1,030 people in Vladicin Han and will employ another 1,470 workers in the Pcinja district.
“Now it is a race against time and that is why we are ready to set aside one extra salary in Vranje, which is higher than the average in Geox, so that the state can help them in this way so that people can bridge this period of weeks or months,” said Vucic.
He says that the state can set aside money that it is a direct giving or gift, before it finds a solution for those people as well.
“We are bringing other companies to hire those people immediately,” the president added.
He said that the average salary in Geox was 280 euros, while in Teklas in Vladicin Han it was 500 euros.
That will be a big change for the people who will get a job in Teklas, said Vucic.
He says that Teklas currently employs 1,030 workers in Vladicin Han and that it will employ a total of 2,500 people in Vladicin Han and Vranje.
Vucic says that, first of all, he came to Vladicin Han to ask his Turkish friends, the Teklas company, to start employing people in Vranje as soon as possible because of the situation with Geox, who left that city.
He thanked the CEO of Teklas for understanding how much he was in a hurry, which is why the Turkish company will start hiring in Vranje, not in November or December as previously planned, but from tomorrow.
In the next 10 to 15 days, new information will be known, Vucic added.
As he said, he is not afraid to go out in front of people when it is difficult for them, and not only when it is nice.
“By the end of 2022, gas will be distributed from Leskovac to Vladicin Han and Vranje, not only steel pipes, but also the entire distribution system in all places. That is a huge progress for the entire Pcinja district.
He said that the general director of Teklas, Anil Nebi, will receive the Order of the Republic of Serbia on February 15, because he did a lot for Vranje and Vladicin Han, reports Tanjug.
