Serbia improves ranking in Global Competition Index

Switzerland, Singapore and the U.S. retained their top three rankings, while Yemen brings up the rear as 138th, the agency said.
Only Bosnia-Herzegovina (107) ranks worse than Serbia among regional countries. Macedonia (68), Croatia (74), Albania (80) and Montenegro (82) all rank better, Beta said.
According to competition rating criteria, Serbia is 53rd in the world, according to its health care and elementary education, 69th in its higher education and training and 74th in infrastructure.
Tanjug said in its report that Serbia is at the bottom of the list when it comes to innovations (108) and business sophistication (120).
Other areas where the country falls behind include efficiency of product and labor markets, and development of the financial market.
