Joberty, an online IT business platform that connects employers and candidates, has secured an early-stage investment by investor Kroog Ventures.
As they point out in the company, with the investment in the amount of 350,000 dollars, this project reached the value of as much as 3.3 million dollars, and only two years since the establishment of this platform.
“Soon after its founding, Joberty was recognized as a project of exceptional potential, which tends to expand to markets around the world. The potential of this project was among the first to be supported by leaders in the domestic IT sector,” it is stated in the announcement.
Nikola Mijailovic, CEO and co-founder of this platform, said that in the coming months Joberty will launch a BETA version of the new product in Croatia and start testing the concept in California.
“We decided to start for Croatia because the IT market is quite similar to ours, in terms of size, target group needs and transparency issues that the IT community faces,” he says, adding that California is the world’s largest technology hub with more than 600,000 developers, nearly half of whom are in Silicon Valley.
“The market is very demanding, and the total annual revenue generated by tech job ads is more than 250 million dollars. Because of all the above, it is very important for us to test the product concept and hypotheses in detail, before we officially launch market operations. Depending on the first results in California, the strategy of further business expansion will depend a lot. We definitely plan to open new markets in the first half of 2022,” says Mijailovic.
Kroog Ventures is an investment platform focused on European technology startup projects. The fund was established in early 2021 and invests in the early stages of development. Vladan Balaban, one of the founders of the Kroog Ventures fund, points out that the IT sector in Serbia has been experiencing an accelerated expansion in recent years.
“I believe that we need to support such IT projects that further strengthen the IT community in Serbia and provide an opportunity for such projects to offer their services on the world market.”
Joberty is a domestic platform that allows employees in the technology sector to share their work experiences and find jobs, and IT companies to find relevant candidates for their jobs. In this way, it seeks to provide the wider community with the opportunity to gain additional insight into the culture of IT companies, thus increasing the transparency of the rapidly evolving IT community, Bonitet reports.
