Minister of Finance SiniĊĦa Mali stated that in 2020 and 2021, Serbia will “cumulatively have the highest economic growth of all countries in Europe”, which is the result of the work of all Serbian citizens, but also partly the result of guarantee schemes that have been implemented.
Explaining the draft laws in the Serbian Parliament, Mali said that since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state of Serbia has reacted quickly and efficiently with a total of more than eight billion euros in order to mitigate the negative consequences of the pandemic.
He said that one program of economic assistance was realized in 2020, two were realized this year, and part of those programs was a guarantee scheme that enabled the state to guarantee loans given by banks to companies.
“We used the liquidity that the banking sector had to provide liquidity for our companies. As a result, you have only a small decline in our economic activity last year. This year, we will have a record growth of more than 7.4, 7.5 percent,” said Mali, N1 reports.
