In the first six months from the entry into force of the legal obligation of electronic registration of the establishment of business companies, 4,062 business companies were established in the Agency for Business Registers (APR) through the portal for electronic registration of companies.

The improved portal, as announced by the APR, enables the submission of a registration application for the establishment of all forms of business companies with the use of a qualified electronic certificate, payment of the registration fee via payment card, as well as submission of the registrar’s decision in the form of an electronic document.

This method of registration, they point out in APR, shortens the time of preparation of documentation and simplifies the registration procedure, and applicants do not have to bring documentation to the counter or send it by mail. Since the electronic registration fee is lower than the paper registration fee, the registration costs are also reduced.

APR introduced the electronic registration of companies back in 2018, when it became possible to electronically submit an application for the establishment of an entrepreneur and a single-member limited liability company, and from 2019, a multi-member LLC.

Users were then given the option of choosing between two registration methods, in paper or electronic form.

A small percentage of users opted for the electronic method, so from January 1st to May 17th this year, when the mandatory electronic registration came into force, only 367 companies were established electronically, and from May 17th the number of electronically established companies increased by as many as 11 times.

With the increase in the number of electronic services for businesses and citizens and the more massive use of qualified electronic certificates, the number of electronic registrations gradually began to increase, the Agency for Economic Registers explains, and as an illustration they cite data on entrepreneurs who are not required to electronically register their establishment.
