The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, stated today at the Investment Summit on the Western Balkans that the Serbian economy is doing well, despite the pandemic, and that now is the right time to invest in Serbia.

“As an investment destination, Serbia is one of the most interesting countries in Europe, especially if investors want to invest in research and development,” Brnabic said at a panel with the prime ministers of the Western Balkans.

She stated that Serbia had a fall in GDP of only 0.9 percent in 2020 and that it achieved economic growth in 2021 of 7.6 percent, while in that year it had a record amount of foreign direct investment of approximately 3, 9 billion euros.

She added that Serbia is very committed to regional cooperation and building a better and more prosperous region.

Brnabic reiterated that European integration, ie EU membership, as well as stability in the region are a priority for Serbia.
