The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, visited the largest river shipyard in the former SFRY, in Apatin and one of the two largest in Europe, which was bought last year by the company Arsenal Rem from Kraljevo and invested 800,000 euros in it.
The company has employed 20 workers, and it is expected that 400 will work in the shipyard, said Brnabic, who wrote on Twitter that a decade ago, the shipyard was collapsing, and workshop space was being rented out.
The shipyard in Apatin is an important resource and great potential, proof of how important domestic investments are, said Brnabic.
Brnabic told the new owner that they will have the support of the Government of Serbia and local self-government, announcing that a system of dual education will start working in the secondary technical school in Apatin in September, which will practically support this shipyard and this investment, Danas reports.
