The spirit of Moscow “possessed” Serbian Athens: This is what the Russians are doing

The majority of Russian citizens who came to Novi Sad from March 2022 until today are engaged in entrepreneurship. Many of them continued their businesses in their homeland, and some of them opted for new waters.

A large number of Russians have started businesses making clothes or accessories. You can see top design in their stores. Top young artists from Russia, experts from the IT sector, photographers also came to Novi Sad. One of them is the famous designer of Russian tiaras, Johan Nikadimus, who came in October. “Serbian Athens” was also chosen by Ilija Varegin and his family as a place to live. He is one of the 10 best young designers in Russia.

There is certainly the most money in the hospitality industry.
Some of the newcomers to the city have also taken over iconic places in Novi Sad – some have been turned into new meeting places, and some have been preserved from oblivion, such as the famous pastry shop “Scheherazade”.

They also show their skills in confectionery, so the famous Pavlov’s cake can be seen at every turn, after new shops have opened in all parts of the city. New bars and cocktail bars have opened in the very center, and the Russians are trying to bring the spirit of Moscow to the people of Novi Sad. In addition to catering and design skills, the Russians also opened workshops for children, as well as babysitting services in Novi Sad.
