The Ministry of Public Investment has announced a tender for the construction of science and technology parks in Kruševac, Niš and Čačak. 70 million euros will be invested in the new facilities, which will accommodate around 1,600 engineers and innovators. The funds were provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the application deadline is November 3rd.

High technology can be developed in the interior of Serbia for a long time. This has been demonstrated for several years by startups operating in science and technology parks in Čačak and Niš. By expanding and building new parks, new opportunities are opening up.

The tender was announced after the Government of Serbia signed a contract with the EBRD in June, worth 80 million euros, for the improvement of scientific infrastructure in the country.

“Here, one contractor will not be chosen, but three contractors because it is about three separate projects. It is about the construction of a science and technology park in Čačak, an industrial and technology park in Kruševac and a new facility that will be attached to the old facility in Niš. These are relatively large buildings of 11, 13 and 17,000 square meters,” Marko Blagojević, the Minister of Public Investments, points out.

The plan is to make the innovation center in the Rasin district a new industrial-technological park in Kruševac. It will be built in the eastern industrial zone near the former administrative building of the “Župa” chemical industry. In addition to offices for more than 200 employees, it will contain conference and production halls, a fair space…

“There is currently not enough space in the Business Incubator and we have a whole waiting list of new tenants. We have a lot of people in the Rasin district who really have innovative and excellent ideas, but they don’t have adequate space and adequate equipment,” says Martina Manojlović, director of the Business Incubator Center in Kruševac.

In addition to the existing one, Čačak will also receive a new Science and Technology Park building.
