Yandex technology company opened its largest international office in Belgrade

The technology company Yandex opened its largest international office in Belgrade. As stated in the announcement, the company’s goal is to employ over 2,000 highly qualified experts in Serbia by the end of the year, and with an international team, the Belgrade office will play a key role in the development of Yandex’s technological services around the world.

By developing its services and improving the entire digital environment, Yandex aims to create employment opportunities in all markets where it operates. As transport and delivery services are already present in Serbia, the opening of the Yandex office opens up opportunities for the launch of new services in urban areas in Serbia, it was pointed out in the announcement.

“We are proud to have gathered an exceptional team of talented experts who bring different skills and knowledge to our new office in Belgrade and we plan to make Serbia our second largest location in the world in terms of number of employees,” said Artem Savinovski, CEO of Yandex and added that Serbia creates a favorable environment and provides constant support to encourage the growth of IT companies.

The announcement further emphasizes that Yandex is committed to social responsibility and education, implementing various initiatives that will nurture local talent and support the growing IT industry in Serbia. Later in the year, Yandex plans to launch an educational quiz for school children to encourage them to opt for technology careers. By partnering with schools and universities, Yandex will provide resources and opportunities for students to advance their skills and pursue rewarding careers in technology. Through these investments in education and local talent, Yandex aims to make a positive and lasting impact on the IT landscape in Serbia.

The company’s presence In Belgrade benefits the technology sector in Serbia by bringing valuable expertise and skills to the local market. Through cooperation and knowledge exchange, Yandex is committed to empowering the local IT community and driving the progress of sophisticated technologies in Serbia. As part of these efforts, Yandex will host HighLoad++ Serbia, a renowned professional conference for programmers and developers, this July in Belgrade.

Additionally, Yandex plans to open another office in Serbia. These two offices will function as research and development centers, focusing on the creation of innovative solutions, such as language models similar to GPT, intended for various Yandex services as well as the personal voice assistant – Alice, hardware solutions such as smart devices, as well as others AI-based services, including ride-hailing and delivery, the statement noted.
