The general director of Telekom Srbija, Vladimir Lučić, said that the company made excellent results in the first half of this year and that it will once again record positive records in all key business segments.
“We finished the first six months of 2023 very successfully. Revenue growth trends, primarily internet and television, are again extremely good, double-digit, so just as we set records in terms of revenue growth, operating profit and new users last year, we will do the same this year. We are also pleased that we are recording this growth both in Serbia and in all subsidiary companies abroad,” Lučić said.
He pointed out that Telekom continues to improve services, and cited as an example the introduction of an Internet speed of 10 gigabits per second, which he called “a record speed at the level of Europe and perhaps the world.”
According to him, this service will initially be available in Belgrade on the water, where a large number of companies are present, as well as immigrants from abroad who start their own businesses, and then it will spread to other parts of the city.
He also announced that Telekom Srbija “will most readily welcome the start of the 5G network in Serbia and the region” and reminded that Vodafone, the global leader in the introduction of innovative digital technologies, is the exclusive partner in this work.
He reminded that Telekom Srbija received financial support for the 5G project in Serbia from the European Investment Bank and said that “now we are even extending the contract with the EIB despite all the lobbying attempts of our competitors to terminate that contract” and that the finalization of that contract is underway work.
Cooperation with the EIB, as he assessed, is an example of the great trust that the world’s largest financial institutions have in Telekom Srbija, in the company’s financial stability and development strategy, Euronews reported.
Lučić also announced that in the current quarter of 2023, the first major reduction in roaming prices between the EU and the countries of the Western Balkans, including Serbia, is coming.
