In 2023, 3.4 million tons of wheat will be produced in Serbia

By September 5th this year, 3.4 million tons of wheat were produced in Serbia, which is 10.9 percent more than last year, the Republic Statistical Office (RZS) announced today.

The production of raspberries is lower by 15 percent, and cherries by 11.9 percent.

The expected production of corn is around 6.6 million tons, which is 54.8 percent higher than last year, as well as sunflowers by 6.7 percent, sugar beets by 22.4 percent and soybeans by 55.5 percent.

According to the announcement, the production of plums is expected to decrease by 27.8 percent, apples by 11.9 percent and grapes by 12.4 percent.

Compared to the ten-year average (2013-2022), wheat production is 25.1 percent higher, sunflower 14.9 percent, soybean 9.9 percent, and corn 5 percent, while sugar beet production is 16.5 percent lower and 10.8 percent of grapes.

Compared to the ten-year average, the expected production of plums this year is 14.2 percent lower, and that of apples is 17.1 percent lower.
