Industrial production in December 2021 was 3.3 percent higher than in December of the previous year.

Compared to the average in 2020, it was higher by 13.1 percent, primarily due to a large drop in the spring of 2020 due to emergency measures.

When you look at the whole of 2021, compared to 2020, industrial production increased by 6.3 percent, the Republic Bureau of Statistics announced.

On a year-on-year basis, the highest growth in December was recorded by mining, as much as 40.6 percent. The manufacturing industry grew 2.3 percent, while the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sectors fell 7.5 percent.

According to the purpose, the highest growth was achieved by the production of intermediate goods (except energy) 12.3% and non-durable consumer goods 10.7%. On the other hand, there was a decline in the production of durable consumer goods by four percent, energy by 6.6 percent and capital goods by 9.1 percent.

The volume of industrial production in 2021, compared to 2020, had an increase in 22 areas with a share of 89 percent in the structure of industrial production, and a decrease in seven areas with a share in the structure of industrial production of 11 percent.
