Dairies were offered an increase in the purchase price of milk by 15 to 20 dinars per liter, which they did not accept. The basic request, from the beginning of the protest, was an increase of 30 dinars, which, as the dairies say, is the minimum below when it will not go.

The meeting in the Government of Serbia, which was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade, representatives of milk buyers Mlekara “Sabac”, “Imlek”, “Dr. Milk” and “Milovanovic”, as well as the team of cattle breeders from Macva District, ended without concrete solutions.

“Dairies said they would raise the purchase price of milk by 15 to 20 percent. “Retail chains did not attend the negotiations, because, as we were told, they did not want to sit at the negotiating table with dairies, so we could not agree on anything regarding the increase in milk prices in markets or reduction of margins,” a member of the delegation told Danas. dairy Branislav Terzić from Å titar.

“Dairies claim that they cannot raise more than 15 to 20 percent of the basic price of milk, and the Ministry of Agriculture promised that the state would participate in raising milk premiums, but they did not specify the amount,” our interlocutor points out.

He explains that they were told that a meeting with representatives of retail chains would be held on Tuesday, and that they would be informed about the outcome of those talks on Wednesday.

“They offered us to try to raise the purchase price of milk by 15 to 20 dinars per liter in the next two or three weeks.” The state and dairies would participate together in the formation of this price, which is absolutely unacceptable to us. We have provided them with our calculation with all the inputs and previous price increases. “Without 30 dinars, we will not stop protesting, we will take to the streets and block roads,” Terzic concludes.

The decision on further steps will be made tomorrow at a meeting with other milk producers in the Macvan district, Danas reports.
