During the past seven days, an increase in the price of soybeans, but also a decrease in the price of corn compared to the previous week, was recorded on the domestic commodity market. The most traded was feed barley of the year 2023.
During this working week, 1,743.00 tons of goods were traded on the Product Exchange in Novi Sad, which represents a 65.14 percent decrease in the volume of turnover compared to the previous week. The financial value of the total turnover was 49,688,600 dinars, i.e. 56.21 percent less on a weekly basis.
On the corn market throughout the week, there was a weak activity of participants, both on the supply side and on the demand side. The difference in the price level of supply and demand, as well as the difference in parity and quality of requested and offered goods, made it even more difficult to conclude stock exchange contracts, writes the regular report from the Product Exchange.
Corn was traded in the price range from 19.50 to 20.00 din/kg without VAT. The weighted price was 19.87 din/kg without VAT, which represents a price drop of 2.90 percent compared to the previous week.
When it comes to wheat from last year’s crop, the offer was mostly that with higher quality parameters, while the demand was weak and focused on wheat with lower quality parameters, but no contracts were concluded.
On the other hand, wheat harvested in 2023 with a hectoliter of 75 kg and a protein of 12 was traded at a single price of 19.30 dinars/kg without VAT, which also represents the weighted price.
The highest turnover, of 608 tons and 35 percent of the total share, was recorded on the feed barley market. It was traded in the price range from 16.80 to 17.00 dinars/kg without VAT, with slight price stagnation compared to last week.
In contrast to the previous week, when trading on the soybean market was absent, this week soybeans were traded in the price range from 60.00 to 62.00 din/kg without VAT with the calculation of quality, and a price increase of as much as 14.47 percent.
