In an authored article for Energija Balkana, Tomislav Mićović, the Secretary-General of the Association of Oil Companies of Serbia, reminds that about ten years ago, the Croatian INA, in 2019 the Optima Group, and in the last two years Slovakia and Hungary, expressed discontent due to JANAF exploiting its market position.
Mićović adds that the head of the Hungarian company MOL recently spoke out, accusing the Croatian oil pipeline of charging four to five times higher transit fees compared to the comparable prices of Western and Russian oil pipelines.
“One of the primary goals of the energy policy of every country is to strengthen energy security, and that is precisely why all countries strive for the diversification of energy sources, supply sources, suppliers, transport routes, and modes of transport, as excessive dependence on anything significantly increases the risk of compromising energy security,” Mićović notes.
