Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS) announced that the Pancevo Oil Refinery will suspend operations

“Sufficient quantities of supplies have been provided for the duration of the overhaul”, it is stated from NIS, as reported by Energija Balkana.

The company points out that in the period from February 29 to April 17, planned overhaul and investment works will be carried out on most process plants in RNP, which will enable the improvement of production processes, as well as increase the reliability of plant operation in the processing complex of NIS.

“It is about the largest, in terms of scope and complexity, capital overhaul in the history of the Pancevo refinery, and the value of the works and investment in development is estimated at 95 million euros,” according to NIS.

The fact that more than 2,000 employees of companies, external contractors will be engaged in the works, in addition to the workers in the refinery, points out from the oil company and adds that all activities will be carried out in accordance with strict environmental standards and rules of safety and health at work.

The renovation is planned for the realization of more than 10 investment projects, as well as a significant number of investment maintenance projects, and the aforementioned activities include the inspection and testing of pressure equipment, which is provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Serbia, reports NIS.

During the duration of the overhaul, activities will be carried out that include the execution of requirements in the field of occupational safety and health and environmental protection, as well as requirements for the replacement and regeneration of the catalyst.

The investment works will also enable the improvement of the reliability of the plant for the production of gasoline components and gases (FCC), as well as the improvement of industrial safety and energy efficiency at several plants in RNP, NIS points out.
