Remittances from Austria, Germany and Switzerland amounted to 2.61 billion euros in 2022, which is 52 percent of the total diaspora remittances from around the world.

The real amount Is probably much higher, given the additional informal channels of sending money to Serbia, which are not statistically recorded, the announcement states.

It Is a market with up to 1.12 million people and an annual purchasing power of 26,000 to 49,600 euros per person, or in absolute numbers up to an astronomical 34.5 billion euros.

The diaspora that lives and works in Austria, Germany and Switzerland is emotionally attached to and happily spends vacations and holidays in Serbia, has an affinity for Serbian products and can significantly influence the development of the Serbian economy.

Considering that they are high-paying customers, they are happy to spend money on shopping, travel, entertainment and entertainment, but also invest in the purchase, construction and maintenance of real estate and start small or family businesses in Serbia.
